Two hours of wide ranging discussion was interesting but not highly informative… at least to someone who has been following proxy access developments. 20 was the high estimate for the number of proposals submitted in the upcoming season… and that seems high to me as well. Commentators were pretty dismissive of the chances for any proposals with thresholds lower than 2-3% held for at least 1-2 years. That seems to be what they thing ISS, Glass Lewis and CII will support. Lots of discussion around who will be targeted… mostly agreement that proposals will be selective. Until we’ve seen a few wins, proxy access isn’t likely to be considered just another good governance proposal like majority voting.
