And there’s this HBR study (Women Do it Better Than Men by Joe Folkman and Jack Zenger) that found at all levels, women are rated higher in fully 12 of the 16 competencies that go into outstanding leadership. Men scored more significantly positive in only two survey items. Men excelled in technical expertise,
innovation, and strategic perspective. Given that not as many women have been given top spots, it is not surprising that men excel at strategic perspective. With this kind of evidence, why are board still dragging their feet with respect to diversity?
