Join a dialogue with Marjorie Kelly and Chuck Collins, leading thinkers in today’s New Economy movement, whose research, insights and activism are providing us with the tools we need to reverse our country’s slide into inequality and lopsided deference to the corporate sector.

Marjorie Kelly - Owning Our FutureMarjorie Kelly‘s new book Owning Our Future: The Emerging Ownership Revolution, is agroundbreaking exploration of the critical importance of ownership design. Poor ownership structures played a key role in sending our economy over the edge, but proper ownership design could also serve as a foundation for an economy where all can flourish. Examining a diversity of mission-based businesses – from a lobster coop in Maine to a multinational pharmaceutical company – Owning Our Future identifies five essential patterns of ownership design that make these enterprises models for economic transformation. Environmental hero Bill McKibben described the book as “magnificent…hardheaded [and] clear-eyed.”
Chuck Collins, senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies and the founder of Wealth for the Common Good, is the author of the recently released 99 to 1: How Wealth Inequality is Wrecking the World and What We Can Do About It.  Van Jones called 99 to 1 as “the primer for the 99 percent movement.” 99 to 1 analyzes the causes and consequences of wealth inequality in all realms of today’s world, in society and in the private sector, media, politics, and other areas. It tells how people and groups are pushing back and taking action to reduce inequality and create a world that works for the many and not just the few.
