Shareowner activist John Chevedden suggested the first nomination for a company avoiding its owners this proxy season.
FirstEnergy ($17 billion) is a contender for the foxhole meeting of the year at the most inconvenient hour.
You are invited to attend the 2013 FirstEnergy Corp. Annual Meeting of Shareholders at 8:00 a.m., Eastern time, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Waterfront Place Hotel, Two Waterfront Place, Morgantown, WV 26501.
Morgantown has a permanent population of 29,660 per the 2010 census.
I might add that FirstEnergy (NYSE:FE) has an overall ESG rating of F from GMI Ratings. Lots of issues at FE. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to list them. Fortunately, I don’t own any shares in the company.
As to John’s nomination, their headquarters in Akron would be fine but Morgantown is too difficult, especially at 8 a.m. On the flip side, Morgantown is a very nice university town.
