I wish I could be in the UK for this seminar. I’d love to hear from anyone attending as to papers delivered, opinions expressed, etc.
The role of employees in corporate governance will be the subject of a forthcoming PIRC seminar taking place on 13th June.
Confirmed speakers include Martin Gilbert, chair of First Group Plc (which has an employee director on its board), TUC General Secretary Frances O’ Grady, and Roger Barker, head of corporate governance at the Institute of Directors. Looking at the issue of employee involvement in remuneration committees will be Deborah Hargreaves, head of the High Pay Centre, and Stephen Beer of the Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church. The seminar will also consider experience of board-level employee representation in other European countries.
